Who is controlling the hand?

Human control, programmed motion and learned behavior answer different questions.

Teleoperation

A person commands the robot, for example through a glove or another input device. This can be useful for remote work and collecting demonstrations. It is not the same as autonomous task completion.

Scripted and autonomous behavior

A script follows programmed instructions. An autonomous system makes some decisions from its observations. Systems may combine these modes or require human resets and interventions.

Ask the helpful question

What did the human do during this trial? Look for a stated control mode, resets and failures. When the source does not explain the setup, label it unspecified instead of guessing.
