Useful knowledge.
Traceable evidence.
A reference library and community for people building dexterous robotics. Compare the hardware, find the tools and share what you learn.
A growing reference, with visible limits.
Hardware records include commercial hands, research platforms, variants and adjacent grippers. They are not a count of manufacturers or commercially available products. Resources may cover several hand variants.
The hand-resource review is dated 2026-09-22. Other specifications and references carry their own dates. This is curated coverage, not every hand or project on the internet.
Dexhands has not independently tested the hardware or reproduced the linked projects in this library. A public link does not establish that software works with your hand revision. Member experiments must be read with their reported setup and limitations.
Evidence should be easy to question.
- Manufacturer specifications
- Reported by the manufacturer or distributor. Follow the original page and check the hardware revision, test conditions and publication date. A listed value is not an independent measurement.
- Research and software
- Credit stays with the original authors. Model-specific, family, research-use and related-generation labels describe the relationship to a hand; none is a compatibility certificate.
- Community experiments
- Contributors should identify their hardware, firmware, control method, procedure, trial count, failures and supporting files. A video alone is a demonstration, not a reproducible benchmark.
- Unknowns and estimates
- Missing information stays unknown. Estimates must be identified as estimates. Announced factory capacity, production targets, orders and actual shipments are different measures.
Compare specifications on the same basis
- DOF: active and total degrees of freedom are distinct; neither alone measures dexterity.
- Mass: read the single-hand boundary and whether external actuation, cables or controllers are included.
- Price: check currency, date, quantity, taxes, controller and service inclusions. A public observation is not a current quotation.
- Performance: compare the same task, conditions and success definition. Different demonstrations do not form a fair leaderboard.
You do not need to own a robot.
Open a hand and use “Suggest a missing link” or “Start a discussion”. Include the field, proposed correction, exact revision and original source.
Share a build or reproduction →Show the setup, instructions, evidence and limitations. Simulation-only work is welcome when identified clearly.
Suggest data or research tools →Link to the original authors. Explain the embodiment, access terms, license, useful tasks and limitations.
Help someone make progress →Ask a precise question, answer one with evidence, or describe a failure that others can learn from.
Fair participation. Clear attribution.
- Apply the same evidence standards to every brand. Directory inclusion is not endorsement, partnership or certification.
- Disclose employment, sponsorship, free equipment and other relevant commercial relationships when contributing.
- Profile affiliations are self-declared. Account registration or post approval does not verify a person’s identity or employer.
- Link and credit original work. Cite the authors’ paper, repository or preferred citation for their research; use Dexhands as a discovery reference.
- Share only material you are allowed to publish. Link to licensed files at their original source instead of copying entire papers, datasets or documentation.
These are participation and editorial standards, not a claim of independent governance or standards-body accreditation.
